Married Barbara Smith in 1967 and we have re-upped every year since. Three kids; two married; one granddaughter
Graduated from University of Virginia in 1062 (economics) Took some evening courses at Babson before going to Boston University's School of Law (1968).
Practiced law at Peabody & Brown (now Nixon Peabody) for almost 30 years. When I joined, there were 19 lawyers at one office in Boston and we were considered a "mid-sized" firm. It now has offices on both coasts and will have over 600 lawyers by early next year. My practiced focused on complex real estate financing and development, business and tax planning. I have since hung my hat in the venerable firm of Ramsey & Murray where I still practice on a less than full time basis, mostly trusts and estates, and devote a lot of atention as a principal to two start up companies. One involves the use of trees to clean remove contaminants from water and air as well as growing useful and valuable wood. The other is a food distribution business. The biggest difference between my former and present situation is that I no longer need to answer to, or feed, the bureaucracy.
All three children managed to get into good colleges, graduate in about 4 years, and get real jobs. Have been involved in various charitable, professional, alumni, local government and church committees, offices and activities over the years. My current responsibilities include being the Town Moderator of Hamilton and a member of the Greater Boston regional selection committee for the Univ. of Virginia's Jefferson Scholars Foundation.
Have lived in the same house in Hamilton since Memorial Day, 1969. We live in the country and monitor the seasons. We feed the birds in the winter and the local birdwatchers use our backyard as one of their annual census stations. My four brothers and I now own the Castle and take turns living there during the summer. Barbara and I usually get July and the greenheads. I am the only brother still here in greater Boston - Gordon ("Red") lives on a farm near Atlanta and runs a business in Newnan, Georgia; my two oldest brothers live in Florida, and Richard (Duff) is now conducting his real estate activities from Springfield. The website is great. We are all indebted to our Californians, Walter and Dottie, to our champion commuter, Don McNutt (Don commutes from Colorado Springs to western Illinois), and to the rest of you who have helped get this going. I certainly look forward to seeing and talking with most of the class at our reunion, thanks to your hard work.
